2. John Doughty appears in 1850 Roane census. He is age 52, farmer, born TN, $600 land value. Elizabeth is 51, born TENNESSEE. They have Wiley 20 in the household, born TN
3. In 1860, John Doughty is 62, TN, land value $1,500. Betsy is 60 and still says born TN. They live next door to Wiley R. Doughty, 30, Mary, and children Sarah 4, Margaret 1. This is the Post Oak Springs (13th) District
4. In 1870, John Doughty 73 TN, $1000, Elizabeth 71 TN, next to Wiley 40, Mary {Hinds}38 and Sarah, Margaret, John, Lucinda, Mary, Carie, Jas.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Holland Doughty says she is born 1799 in Tennessee, and she's sticking to it. If William and Lovina are in KY at that point, she can't be theirs???????
John Doughty's family is from Cocke County, TN. His sister, Jane Campbell DOUGHTY, married Capt. Samuel SILVEY in 1808 Cocke Co--must have moved to Roane soon after.
1826--P-559 SAMUEL SILVEY to GEORGE DOUGHTERY 200 acres on Poplar Creek - Granted to said Silvey by the State of TN #12711. [I don't see George in the 1830 census??]

George W. Doughty's pension records also note that he was RAISED BY SAM SILVEY.I don't know who George W. Doughty is yet, but probably kinsman of John Doughty, and Jane C. Doughty Silvey. PMc
