IN 1850
In
1850 Roane, the census has TWO John Hollands.
One is age 30 born SC, wife Lerena [Surena]. The other is age 36, born TN, wife Amy
A. 26. (Amy A. is probably Mary Ann?) The second one is not found in 1860 Roane census. See below

Holland married 5/6/1833 Celia Arnsparger, 1840 and 1850 couple living in Monroe
Co. KY
John Holland's 1850 Census, (Lavinia is living with him at this time) John
is shown to have been born in KY. John was born October 24, 1809. Pleasant
Holland was born on June 25, 1812. He is shown on both the 1850 and 1860
Census records as having been born in KY. This would put William living in KY
less than one year before the 1810 Census and two years after it was taken. It
would therefore seem to be a safe assumption that he was indeed living in KY
in the 1810 Census.
In the 1850 KY Census, William Holland's widowed wife is living in
Barren County with son John. Therefore, there is least a slight potential for
a previous connection with Barren County and William Holland.

is listed next door to George W. Wester 36. Next is John Turner 46 GA m
(Edith Wester), land value $3600. On the other side of Mary
is Jonathan Pickel 33 with $1500. As mentioned before, Willis Short 55
SC ($1800) is not far away.
#1318 Solomon Row 44 is nearby, and born SC
#1429 Lewis Row 32 KY is some distance away. Sarah 30, Nancy J. 13,
Franklin 7, Minerva 5, Joseph 2
#1445 Daniel Wester 63 NC ($7450), kids.
We have not figured
out who Hugh Holland is (he appeared on 1840 Roane census, and no further trace
of him.
