HON. GEORGE PRESTON’S FAMILY

Born February 21, 1769 in Botetourt County, VA., died 1808 at the age of 39 years. He married (1787) JEAN LOONEY in Botetourt.

They had eight children: Two of their sons married sisters of Col. URIAH ALLISON, and a son and a daughter married children of ABRAHAM BOGART

2. JAMES PRESTON (1790) married (1810) JANE ALLISON
3. MOSES PRESTON (1793-1852) married (1815) MARGARET ALLISON 10 children
4. JESSE PRESTON (1795) married (1820) NANCY BOGART
5. JANE PRESTON (1798) married (1815) ELIJAH FARMER
6. MILLY PRESTON (1800) married (1816) WILLIAM VAUGHN
7. MARY PRESTON (1803) married (1820) WILLIAM BOGART
8. GEORGE PRESTON, JR. (1805-1869) married (1824) ELIZABETH PARMLEY, and (1844) MARGARET WILSON

JEAN LOONEY PRESTON married secondly, ABRAHAM BOGART. The Roane 1808 Tax List refers to the widow of George Preston as "Elizabeth" but this must have been a middle name because in her marriage to Bogart in 1812, it is "Jean" Preston. (Book F, p 230). The George Preston heirs sold the 190-acre TN River farm in 1824 to ABRAHAM BOGART.
