"Uncle Lum was an older man when I was a child. I remember him very well because he whittled walnuts into faces and added squirrel skin with hair attached for the hair and beard. It was fun watching him. The old house he lived in still stands. It is on Gallaher Road near the interstate. His son, "Buck" was a contract builder in Kingsport, a Major in the Air Force, and was killed in air battle. Buck was one of the founding fathers of State line Baptist Chruch.
